At St. Monica Catholic School, learning goes beyond just the classroom and Mass. It's all about broadening our students' experiences and encouraging them to dive into activities outside of school. Check out our clubs and activities!
Student Council
Eighth graders can run for Student Council President, while both 7th and 8th graders compete for roles like Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Communication Officer every year. The Student Council is all about service projects, pep rallies, and other fun school events! Their goal is to combine service with fostering a sense of community in the school.
Scouting
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts is open to all boys in kindergarten through fifth grade. Some of the best things about Cub Scouting are the activities you get to do: camping, hiking, racing model cars, going on field trips, or doing projects that help your hometown and the people who live there. Cub Scouting means "doing."
Boy Scouts
Boy Scouts is open to anyone in fifth grade through age 18. Troop activities are driven by the Scouts with adults participating for supervision only. During the year, scouts work on rank advancement from Scout to Eagle, including merit badges in topics interesting to them.
Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts is the place for girls to become leaders, take risks, and be themselves, all while having a great time!
How? Through the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities like earning badges, going on awesome trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects.
Bring-It-On Book Challenge
Every year, students in 4th and 5th grade take part in a team contest that tests their book knowledge. They get assigned books to read from January leading up to the competition in March. The contest includes short-answer, multiple choice, and true/false questions about the books they read. The top team from the school will move on to compete at the district level, which takes place at a local Catholic school.
Life Runners
St. Monica Life Runners is our pro-life crew focused on supporting and advocating for unborn children. They wear Life Runner jerseys at local races and at school on the first Wednesday of each month and on Spirit Wear Fridays. You don't need to be a runner to get involved! Everyone, including students and staff, can buy a Life Runners jersey to show their support for the unborn! Plus, Life Runners helps raise money for local pro-life organizations like Caring Network.
Kalamazoo Parks & Recreation
St. Monica Students have the opportunity to participate with Kalamazoo Parks & Recreation Department for after-school golf, bowling, archery, and their e-sports league. These provide even more outlets for the different interests of our students!
