Local Advisory Council

Each school within the Catholic Schools of Greater Kalamazoo (CSGK) has a Local Advisory Council (LAC). The purpose of the LAC is to advise the Principal in matters of programming, policies, finance, facilities, grounds, development, marketing, alumni relations, community relations, and relations with the Parishes. The LAC is also responsible for contributing to the annual evaluation of the principal.

Public meetings are held most months and meeting dates and times are published on each school's calendar.

Visitors are always welcome to attend Council meetings.

Meeting Minutes

Interested in getting involved with the St. Monica LAC? Here are a few options:

1. Attend one of the LAC meetings
2. Complete your application to be on the LAC next year! In order to be considered for a leadership position on the LAC, you will need to provide: 

• Completed LAC application form (PDF)
• Letter of consent from Pastor   
• Letter of intent, which may address and/or answer the following:
  • Why you wish to hold a leadership position on the LAC.
  • Your understanding of the advisory role of an LAC member. 
  • Your willingness to keep matters in confidence until decisions are made public.
  • The expertise and talents you will bring to the leadership position for the benefit of the school community.
  • How you will support decisions when unable to agree with them.
